The study has found a positive effect of a new feed supplement “BIO-Extra” on the beef productivity and quality indicators of meat from calves. The greatest effect was obtained when using a feed supplement containing extruded chickpeas and pumpkin-milkthistle cake. At the age of 16 months, the animals fed the “BIO-Extra” supplement surpassed the calves in the control group on live weight by 19 and 25 kg with a significant difference. The calves consuming the feed supplement with extruded components (chickpeas and pumpkin-milkthistle cake) (Group II) and in native form (Group I) had the difference in body weight of 6 kg. Biochemical analysis showed that the eye muscle of the calves in the test groups contained higher values of essential amino acid tryptophan by 5,26 and 5,43 % and protein quality index by 0,50 and 0,58. The feed supplement in the diet of the calves increased the culinary and technological characteristics of beef.
