About the full-text database "Agricultural Exhibitions" creation

Abstract

Considered are the results of creating a full-text database (DB) of the formation and development of domestic agricultural exhibitional demonstration in the XIX-XXI centuries based on the document collection of the Central Scientific Agricultural Library (CSAL). The DB is intended for researchers, professionals of the AIC and related subject areas, employees of libraries and STI bodies, it can interesting for non-specialist audiences interested in the history of agriculture development in Russia. Presented are the DB structure, as well as software and linguistic tools for data forming, structuring, representing and information retrieval from the DB. The documents in the BD are provided with a bibliographical record, this allows not only full-text searching, but also format field searching thereby increasing the search efficiency. Presented are search facilities of the DB. Described are the processes of scientific processing of documents included in the DB. Presented are the principles and methods of forming the DB content based on studying sources. Including in each section reviews characterizing the historic conditions and the most important sources is the peculiarity of the DB. The access to the DB is effected within the framework of the Electronic Scientific Agricultural Library (ESAL) through the bookmark “Electronic CSAL libraries” on the home page of the CSAL, as well as within the framework of the Electronic Library of the Central Catalogue.
